Hey Doll,

Are you missing me now that I am in LA? Styling for this TV show is great, especially sitting here at the beach with my laptop, a ‘tini and my cell.

You said for me to shout out if I found a writer with a new “vibe”: I think I have! She’s a local LA girl who covers LA lifestyle in a major way: fashion, beauty, and lots more. She knows where to find the best bargains; the best haircuts at great prices as well as the best fitting jeans. This girl has the bead on all the soon to be hot make-up, spas, jewelry. I snatched a couple of leads from her.

She’s good at short pieces, but she shines on the longer in-depth pieces too: spas in Hawaii, new designers, skincare she’s done it all. Remember those funky athletic shoes I came home with that you loved? I bought them after reading her column. I ran across her holiday gift piece - everything I bought was from her article (yes even those earrings you loved!).

She has interviewed tons of people: super-models, fashion designers, celebrity stylists, make-up artists, hair stylists, dermatologists, plastic surgeons and musicians. The hardest subjects just open up and turn to gooey best friends. It’s like you are sitting at the table having coffee with them.

The girl has written for a slew of magazines: national fitness magazine; that cult fashion one that we loved; and that website we would read for the “indie” take on things.

Ok... wait... I found her. Her name is Stevie Wilson.

Here’s her bio:

An experienced, “with a twist” writer of fashion/beauty/ lifestyle, profiles, and fitness for regional, national and online magazines, Stevie Wilson’s writing persona ranges from “girl-talk” to authoritative. Her low-key yet incisive interviewing skill allows the subject to reveal the real person behind the image. Bestselling fiction writer, Lisa Glatt, stated that Stevie Wilson is a “gifted interviewer”. Celebrity events have a “you are there” presentation.

Stevie Wilson pioneered the “marriage” of the Web with traditional retail, by organizing online community events at Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys, Bloomingdales and Sephora stores.

As US Bureau Chief (2004-2005), Wilson launched Lucire, a leading fashion website, into print: hiring/supervising 10 writers; creating editorial calendar and more.

Formerly, Stevie was fashion editor for Orange Coast Magazine and executive editor for Fashiontribes.com. She is the creator of L.A. Story, a lifestyle blog covering West Coast fashion, beauty special events and profiles as well as a prolific freelance writer and savvy marketing consultant.
